Allergen-Free Eating

A friend of a friend of mine has come up against a wall. Her 9-year-old son was recently diagnosed with severe allergies to shellfish, pea (pea-protein), and soy. We’re trying to help her find as many resources as possible about these multiple allergies.

She’s a single parent and it’s hard enough getting by without now the added adjustment of her child’s dietary guidelines.

I’m turning to the good folks of Tumblr to help me in my quest to find allergen-free products, recipes, restaurants.. and honestly, just more information to increase all of our awareness.

Here’s where I am running into a brick wall to help my friend. I’ve searched for sites in which you click on allergens in order to pull up recipes that don’t have them in the recipe. I know of a few that will do that for meat-free recipes, but I’m looking specifically for allergens such as nuts, soy, wheat/gluten, etc.

If you live in the #RaleighNC area..specifically #NCSU main campus, please keep an eye out for Muggie.. all white neutered short-hair male cat who is NOT micro-chipped or declawed.. he has one blue eye and one yellow eye. Wake County Animal Shelter and Vick Ave Emergency Vet Clinic have been notified of his disappearance and flyers are up along with rogue kitty hunts daily around 440’s exit 1D. Been missing since Friday night (11/09) from the Driftwood Manor neighborhood. Has rabies tag, personal, and vet hospital ID tags on blue collar. I just want him home safe and sound!
